Career Summary

Leadership

A leader is someone who builds trust within their team so they feel safe. They validate their colleagues and build camaraderie with their team that promotes inclusivity and equity. As a teacher, I am a leader every day, leading by example in the way I act, speak, and behave. I organize classroom programs, I solve problems effectively and efficiently, I foster meaningful relationships and diffuse tension with students, colleagues, and parents; and I am able to delegate tasks when I need a helping hand. As a manager, I am able to lead my team with empathy, and streamline business operations in a high-paced environment.

Marketing

Marketing is about setting trends, not following them. A Marketer is someone who is able to take old knowledge and create something new. As an A&R Representative, one of my many tasks was to develop new and innovative strategies and projects that would adequately represent my artists and the brand. This meant understanding my market and creating business activities and opportunities to drive interest. Some of my team's projects included publications in Alternative Press and HM Magazine, as well as a promotional collaboration with Newbury Comics.

Music Business

I have curated a comprehensive knowledge of music - technologically, creatively, and from a business perspective through my coursework specialized in Sync Licensing and Copyright Law, as well as my industry experiences at studios and labels. As a studio Intern, I was able to develop and implement music strategies and operations. This included programming, promotions, and marketing campaigns. I studied under industry professionals to learn standard production, engineering, mixing, and mastering techniques.

I believe in seeing things from a native perspective, rather than filtering concepts through my own. I immerse myself, and learn from a culture to better understand its place in the broader world.

Collaboration

I believe that there is no ego in working together. Everyone plays an essential part in a whole. We should all have equal opportunity to engage, as all ideas are valid and could be the spark of something truly extraordinary.

Project Management

I thrive in the process of managing projects - from ideation to materialization. Delivering a finished project requires accountability, so understanding all the moving parts is the core of what I do.

Analysis

I recognize that things are complex, and that sometimes opposite polarities coexist as true. I examine these complexities to understand their nature, and organize the data to learn from it.

Communication

I approach everyone as human in any conversation. I understand that everyone communicates in different ways, so it is important to make them feel seen and heard whether in advocacy, negotiation, or general social context.

Adaptability

The only thing you can count on is change. When chaos is expected, you can use it as a strength, rather than a distraction. I look at these new conditions as opportunities to discover and learn.

Music Production

Music Production at the Record Factory is a course that comprises all important aspects of today’s music production in a constructive manner. The course focuses on the roles and skills required to be a music producer with both a technical and creative approach. Students learn a basic understanding of sound, as well as producing beats and live performances, and mixing and mastering music.
